Bike Angels is an opt-in rewards program for bikeshare members to rebalance bikes for points and membership extensions.

Angels can find points displayed on all stations and are notified as they earn points on each ride, as well as when they unlock rewards.

Angels can track their monthly, yearly, and lifetime points, readily accessible in the app.

Angels can toggle points display to de-clutter their map for a normal ride experience.

Signing Up:

In-app signup can be triggered by various entry points for non-angel members. Check your app and make sure you have notifications turned on! Existing angels can trigger the tutorial by tapping ‘what is this’. 

Earning Points:

• Bike Angels must have an active Bay Wheels membership to be able to earn points.  
• Points can only be earned on rides that end by docking at a station. 

Note: A dockless bike picked up from a station and ended outside of a station by using the lock to will not earn points

Redeeming rewards

There are both digital rewards and physical rewards (or lifetime rewards) that Bike Angels can earn.

Physical: Every Bike Angels point you earn is added to your monthly and lifetime tracker in your profile. Lifetime points never reset — you’ll keep earning more over the lifetime of your bikeshare membership. When you reach a Lifetime points milestone, we’ll email you a form to claim your lifetime rewards. You can check out the rewards here.

Digital: Bike Angels points are added to a Points Bank and do not expire. You can view your Points Bank and Lifetime Points in your Bike Angels profile in the app. To redeem your points for digital rewards, visit your Bike Angels profile and click on the reward you want to redeem. Then, you’ll have the option to review and confirm your redemption. To redeem your rewards properly, make sure your app is up-to-date.
