You can return your Classic bike to any station with an open dock – you don't have to bring it back to the station where you picked it up. Find available docks on the Bay Wheels app, Lyft app, or System Map. Line up the triangle located at the front of the bike with the dock and insert your bike gently but firmly- don't slam it! Wait until the light on the dock turns green and you’ve received a notification to make sure it's locked. If you aren’t sure, pull the bike by the handlebars to confirm it’s properly locked. Please always make sure your bike is docked at a Bay Wheels station when your ride is over; never leave it unattended.
Ebikes can also be docked at any Bay Wheels station, the same way you’d dock a Classic Bike. If securing your bike at a dock, do not also use the cable lock. This ensures your bike is ready for the next rider.
You can also lock your ebike to any public bike rack within the designated service area. First, remove the cable lock from the pink holder and wrap the cable around the bike rack. Then place the pin into the lock. You will hear a beep when the bike is securely locked, with the LED ring turning green and then flashing white. This signifies that your trip has ended.
Always park your ebike responsibly. Lock your bike to a public bike rack and be mindful of others: don’t block sidewalks, pathways, or ADA ramps.
Note: A $20 fee will be applied for parking outside the service area.
