When you properly dock a bike, you'll hear a beep and see a green light on the dock. If you did not see a green light, then that means your trip may still be open, and we will continue to charge you for your journey.
If the dock you are currently trying to use is broken (giving no response when you try to dock), please try another dock. If you're still not able to dock your bike, please contact Bay Wheels customer service, now supported by Lyft. It's a good idea to enable push notifications on your mobile app, so you'll get a confirmation every time you've successfully docked your bike.
You may notice some docks do not have LED lights, but instead have flip dots. If ending a ride at one of these docks, make sure to look for the green lock dot as an indication that the bike has been properly docked. If you see a red “X” dot, this means that the bike is not docked properly. Do not leave an undocked bike unattended.
Additionally, if you see a red “X” dot at an empty dock, this means this open dock is unavailable and you’ll need to dock your bike at a different dock.
